DR.TOM JOSE KAKKANATTU


Dr Tom Jose Kakkanattu was trained at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS- New Delhi) and Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER Chandigarh), India's two top most medical institutes, for both MD (General Medicine) and DM (Nephrology). He did his MBBS from Govt Medical college Thrissur. At PGIMER, Nephrology Dept he was mentored and trained by the world leaders in Nephrology and Transplantation. He is a European board certified nephrologist by completing the European Speciality Examination in Nephrology(UK) conducted by the Royal college of Physicians- London and ERA-EDTA.


He has been trained in treatment of all nephrological conditions including acute and chronic kidney disease, Glomerulonephritis, placement of tunnelled and untunnelled dialysis catheters, kidney biopsy, AV fistula mapping, renal transplantation of HLA compatible, incompatible pairs and blood group incompatible pairs, in providing hemodialysis, ICU dialysis, CRRT and peritoneal dialysis.


His area of special interests are critical care nephrology, interventional nephrology and renal transplantation.
