The Department of Nephrology is one of the premier renal centers in north kerala in terms of well experienced and skilled doctors, nursing and allied health professionals. We provide the most advanced and innovative treatment techniques and concentrate on creating the right environment for renal patients with affordable rates. The department runs one of the most successful renal care center in north kerala.

We have a state of art 9‐bedded haemodialysis unit with advanced water treatment plant and monitoring equipments. It functions 24/7 to ensure optimal care to the patients with daily supervision by a nephrologist. The hospital houses the best treatment possibilities for patients undergoing Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT) like Haemodialysis, Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) etc with the facility to provide complete renal care under one roof. The center has a large number of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on follow up and the comprehensive management strategies to reduce the progression of kidney disease is another highlight of the department. Apart from diagnosis and treatment, we advise diet and lifestyle changes for effective and speedy recovery of our patients. We have OPD and IPD services for nephrology patients with round the clock availability of a nephrologist and facilities for emergency dialysis.

Our department has special expertise in the field of interventional nephrology with facilities for placement of temperory and permanent dialysis catheters, permcath placement under C-ARM guidance, renal biopsy under USG guidance, peritoneal dialysis catheter placement, AV fistula creation with the availability of an experienced vascular surgeon. The affordable rates with package facility for the procedures is of advantage to the patients. We are supported by our urology department.

We do work up and follow up of renal transplantation patients and have facility for management all post renal transplantation complications. Renal transplantation in the department is planned in the next phase. We run special clinics for chronic kidney disease, diabetic kidney disease and refractory hypertension.
